Terry Tinling, Artist

Kia ora.

I am a self-taught artist and live at beautiful Waihi Beach, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. My work includes use of acrylic and oils as well as mixed media techniques. I have always had a love of art and the creative process. My father, Chilton Tinling, was an artist his entire life and I was immersed in art growing up in Tāmaki Makaurau.

The focus of my art comes from my love of our local landscape. The flora and fauna and beautiful coastline are constant elements in my painting.

My connection to the arts is very personal and sharing my creative journey with you is what I hope to bring through my art practise. You will see that my love for portraiture is also prevalent in my art and features in many of my paintings as we co-habit this beautiful landscape, Aotearoa.
